Which made us both happy. Its amazing for how bad a road vehicle the Cruiser is (I mean, its not BAD, but its not good) how much better a vehicle it becomes off road. Even minor roads and tracks it just changes its character completely.
Took my gals on a “quick overnighter”
Thing is...there wasn’t a lot of frivolous packing going on here. Aside from a bigger tent than we actually needed...this was all stuff we used. 1 adult and 2 kids.
About 80 miles, about 20 of those on trail.
The views did not suck
As a side note, I feel okay about loading it like this as I just noticed on a review on the newest GMC’s that the gross rear axle weight rating for my truck is higher than any current half ton truck. Those trucks usually have 3800 lb axle ratings, and the cruiser is 3970

You’re lucky to be near that sort of wilderness! Great pics and it looks like fun was had by all.

I know you've talked about the cruiser, but where'd the Lexus go? When did this happen?

What? No drawer system? No Pelican cases? No RTT? You suck at this Overlanding thing! I like how you do stuff, but your truck doesn’t necessarily broadcast it. It just looks purposeful.
My wife and I always kid around that packing for a 1 night trip, or a week, there seldom seems to be a difference in the amount of items that need to go. Also, I’m jealous, I didn’t get to go out this weekend. Darn household responsibilities.

I know! ImThe worst overland I know!
And you are right re: stuff. The main difference is food. Makes overnighters tough but still rewarding

The Raider makes a similarly massive character change when you leave pavement. It really does drive about 10 times better on a dirt or gravel road than on pavement

GAWR for Tundra is 4150 lb, correct?

correct. The Tundra has a CRAZY big axle for a half ton. Those will NEVER break (especially since they d ont offer a locker)

And 200 series gawr is 4300 lbs for a smaller axle. So Toyota is probably under rated the tundra axle.
